When women rise in Haiti, families and communities rise with them. Fonkoze makes that journey possible.

Fonkoze is a family of organizations working together to provide financial and development services that empower Haitians−primarily women−to build lasting pathways out of poverty and toward economic independence.

“The program had a lot of reasons for switching from in-kind transfers to cash ones,” a team member shared. “but Marjina’s experience shows that it has work to do as far as helping members buy well.” — Marjorie Paul, CHE participant

CLM participants live on the margins of rural society in some of the most underserved communities in Haiti. Before joining CLM, these families face chronic hunger, lack reliable income, have no productive assets, and limited access to healthcare, safe housing, and education for their children.

“I speak as a friend of Fonkoze, as an admirer, and as a member of the village. What I witness is more than programs or outcomes—it’s a community that shows up, again and again, with empty hands and full hearts. Fonkoze has long known what we’re all beginning to understand: it takes a village.”
